Ingredients - the dough :

  • 1200 g flour
  • 200 ml of olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

  • 1200 g roasted powdered ground almonds
  • 30 g of orange peel powder

Ingredients - the syrup :

  • 200g sugar
  • 50g water
  • A few drops of lemon

Preparation :

Phyllo dough: Prepare dough with water, salt and some oil

Wet, little by little, with water to collect the flour into a ball.

Knead until it becomes soft and easy to handle. Form small balls and let stand for a few minutes.

Spread into very thin layers using a rolling pin (approx. 1 mm thick).

Coat the plate with oil. Place a first sheet on the tray and let it exceed the borders with few centimeters.

Place 15 sheets on top, coat with oil except the top sheet on which you will put the stuffing.

Mix the almond powder with the orange peels

Spread 15 more over the stuffing. Let stand for 4 to 5 hours.

Cut the tray surface into small diamonds (about 3cm) and bake for 45 minutes at 180 ° C.

Heat the syrup and coat the whole tray.
